Organized in 1998, Shanxi Fenwei Energy Consulting Co., Ltd. Founded by Chang Yijun, and headquartered in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province, with a full time staff over 80 engineers and geologists, analysts, and support staff, the Company has served as consultants and advisors to international clients and major state-owned enterprises in China.
The scope of services range from field investigations, evaluations of coal resources, resource planning and mine development, feasibility and market studies, pilot plant and commercialization of technology, environmental impact and assessment. It provides up-to-minute news and analysis of market developments, government policies and regulations, planned and new project announcements, The website is a repository of reliable information about China coal at the national and provincial level, including: reserves, coal fields, mines and quality, production, consumption, pricing of thermal coal and coking coal (mine mouth, rail and port). About 20 in-house engineers and market analysts collect, assemble, analyze and produce edited information for subscribers in our online newsletters, databases via our website, as well as published reports.
The Company also produces publications regarding Shanxi coal resources, annual reports, maps and atlas. Most of our publications are in Chinese. We are authorized by the Ministry of Land and Resources to produce maps. We have published Maps of Shanxi Coal Reserves, Production, Transportation and Sales; Atlas of China Coal Resources; and Atlas of Shanxi Coal Reserves. For annual reports, our titles include: Analysis and Outlook of Shanxi Coal Competitiveness; and a series of annual report on resources and markets of China Coal, China Anthracite, China PCI Coal, China Coking Coal and China Thermal Coal.
Lastly, one of the Group’s member companies, Shanxi ZhongTai eCommerce Company, Ltd., is also the operator of the Shanxi Coal Exchange, the very first State Council-authorized electronic trading platform in China for the buy and sell of future contracts for coal and soon-to-be-added coke. The Shanxi Coal Exchange began its operation in 2007 with the sponsorship and authority granted by the Shanxi Provincial Government.
